Department Development| MTI Education Center holds a seminar on subject construction for the new semester

MTI Education Center of RUC’s School of Foreign Languages held a seminar on discipline construction for the new semester on September 5th.

The members of MTI Education Center’s supervisor team, including Wang Jianhua, Niu Yunping, Li Huiming, Feng Jia, Zhang Ling, Su Qin, Chen Xiaoxiao and Yang Caixia, attended the seminar and delivered speeches respectively. The seminar was presided over by Niu Yunping. The supervisor team pored over trial basic requirements for MTI’s degree thesis released by China National Committee for Graduate Education of Translation and Interpreting (GETI), and focused on the explanations on the requirements given by experts from the GETI. The explanations was relayed by Li Huiming who studied them in the summer seminar for supervisors of MTI. Based on the school’s goals of MTI major construction, the supervisor team discussed the internship and practice of MTI students, as well as the work of MTI’s thesis, and planned the discipline construction for the new semester.

The seminar further clarified MTI Education Center’s responsibilities and missions of discipline construction for the new semester. MTI Education Center will always take cultivating compound foreign talents with international competence as its core mission, contributing its wisdom and strength to the integration of Chinese and foreign cultures, as well as the promotion of communication and mutual learning among civilizations.
