The First International Symposium on Germanic Studies


The First International Symposium on Germanic Studies was held successfully in Remin University of China in Beijing from April 1 to 4 of 2004. The Department of German Language, Remin University, the “Path to the Literature” magazine, sponsored by Tyssen Foundation and Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation, jointly held the conference. There were more that 50 experts and scholars from Germany, Austria, Japan, Korea and China attended the event. It helped to broaden the academic horizons of the teaching faculty and students, enhancing international exchanges available in the field and making the German Department better known by the outside world.
From September 21 – 24 0f 2005, collaborating with the editorial board of “Path to the Literature”, the German Department will host the “First ’Path to the Literature’ Beijing International Egon conference – in memory of Egon Schiele 200 years anniversary”.
