The School of Foreign Languages at RUC was founded on the basis of the former Department of Foreign Languages, Renmin University of China. Holding an important position in training Chinese foreign language talents with quality, all-round development and comprehensive adaptation, it possesses five B.A. majors, namely English, Russian, Japanese, German and French; four M.A. majors, namely English Language and Literature, Russian Language and Literature, Japanese Language and Literature, and German Language and Literature; and three research centers, namely centers for Australian Studies, German Studies and Japanese Studies.The school consists of 118 full-time teachers, including 12 professors and 56 associate professors. 11 executives and teaching assistants devote themselves to quotidian works. At present, six foreign experts conduct regular courses here, one from , and respectively, and three from . Nine foreign teachers support teaching, one for teaching Japanese and eight for English.
